چکیده

In view of the exciting advancement on silicon-carbon bond-forming transformations achieved in past decade, this review intends to show a unified illustration recent findings enantioselective Si-H bond functionalization aided by asymmetric catalysis. Accordingly, describes functionalization, focusing reactivity and stereoselectivity catalytic hydrosilylation, carbene insertion, silylation, Si-C cross-coupling reactions that were with high enantioselectivity presence transition-metal catalyst systems. This highlights representative examples discusses origins silicon-involving stereoselectivities, evaluates substrate scopes limitations these due special different hydrosilanes.

Amino acid catalyzed direct asymmetric aldol reactions: a bioorganic approach to catalytic asymmetric carbon-carbon bond-forming reactions.

Direct asymmetric catalytic aldol reactions have been successfully performed using aldehydes and unmodified ketones together with commercially available chiral cyclic secondary amines as catalysts. Structure-based catalyst screening identified L-proline and 5,5-dimethyl thiazolidinium-4-carboxylate (DMTC) as the most powerful amino acid catalysts for the reaction of both acyclic and cyclic keto...

Phosphinocyclodextrins as confining units for catalytic metal centres. Applications to carbon–carbon bond forming reactions

The capacity of two cavity-shaped ligands, HUGPHOS-1 and HUGPHOS-2, to generate exclusively singly phosphorus-ligated complexes, in which the cyclodextrin cavity tightly wraps around the metal centre, was explored with a number of late transition metal cations. Both cyclodextrin-derived ligands were assessed in palladium-catalysed Mizoroki-Heck coupling reactions between aryl bromides and styre...

Catalytic asymmetric carbon-carbon bond formation via allylic alkylations with organolithium compounds.

Carbon-carbon bond formation is the basis for the biogenesis of nature's essential molecules. Consequently, it lies at the heart of the chemical sciences. Chiral catalysts have been developed for asymmetric C-C bond formation to yield single enantiomers from several organometallic reagents. Remarkably, for extremely reactive organolithium compounds, which are among the most broadly used reagent...

Asymmetric end-functionalization of carbon nanotubes.

Many microor nanostructured objects owe their functionality to asymmetry. For instance, bifunctional molecules bearing two different groups at their ends are essential components of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) with tailored surface properties. While one of these groups serves to anchor the molecule to the substrate surface, the group at the opposite end is exposed on the SAM surface. SAMs ...

Simple Photovoltaic Device Based on Multiwall Carbon Nanotube/Silicon Heterojunction

Multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) are grown via chemical vapour deposition method directly on a stainless steel substrate. Raman spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy are the techniques chosen to characterize the structure of the synthesized carbon nanotubes: few structural defects are detected. After their removal from the stainless steel substrate, the as-grown MWCNTs are then a...
